There’s just something special about relationships that began in high school—whether as a friendship or romantic relationship. Rebecca and Ricardo met in high school where they were both in band and theater techs. Rebecca is originally from Bolingbrook, IL and Ricardo lived in Chicago before moving to Bolingbrook. Now, Ricardo manages a restaurant and Rebecca serves as a police officer. They both enjoy video games, watching movies and traveling together—in fact, that’s how Ricardo proposed! They were on vacation in New Orleans, and he popped the question in Jackson Square.

After lots of time planning, their day finally arrived! They dressed and prepared for the ceremony at their home in Romeoville. Rebecca did her own make-up and even did all of her bridesmaid’s make-up! While they were getting ready, the guys were having a great time hanging out in the basement playing pool.

Rebecca’s details included a beautiful and unique bouquet of red satin roses with white pearls. Her bridesmaids wore red, jewel encrusted gowns and Rebecca’s gown was a gorgeous satin with intricate beadwork on the bodice.

Their ceremony and reception took place at the Jacob Henry Mansion. It was cold and windy, and even drizzling during their first look, but we managed to get some beautiful portraits! Ricardo was so excited to see Rebecca in her gorgeous gown! Ricardo has a great laugh that just makes everyone around him smile…and I don’t think I saw him without that smile on the entire day!

Their theme of red and white was carried over to the reception details, and their cake was white with chocolate flowers. They enjoyed their first dance, some great speeches, and then the dance floor was opened, and the party really began!
