Kayla and Andrew’s canoe session at Hammel Woods in Shorewood, IL, was a perfect blend of romance and adventure. Despite some last-minute worries about the weather—it had been raining and windy for days, and the morning started off cloudy—the skies cleared just in time for their session, giving us the most beautiful conditions to work with.
Kayla looked stunning in a flowing pink dress, while Andrew opted for a classic look with a navy shirt and brown bottoms. Their pups, Luna and Belle, were the sweetest little companions. Both small with curly brown fur, they wore yellow bandanas that added a playful and coordinated touch. The pups behaved perfectly throughout the session, sitting calmly and soaking in the peaceful surroundings of Hammel Woods.
To add a special touch to the canoe, we adorned it with purple and yellow mums and comfy pillows, creating a setting that was both romantic and adventurous. The vibrant colors popped against the natural beauty of the river and surrounding greenery, enhancing the overall vibe of the session. The scene felt like a page out of a storybook.
The session was filled with laughter and love, with the sunlight filtering through the trees and reflecting off the water. Luna and Belle sitting perfectly still in the canoe as if they knew this was their moment to shine. The combination of the beautiful scenery, the decorated canoe, and the love between Kayla, Andrew, and their pups made every shot feel so special.
The mood was just right—playful yet serene, adventurous yet intimate. It was a perfect representation of who Kayla and Andrew are as a couple, sharing a beautiful moment with their beloved fur babies. This session will always be a favorite, capturing the romance of the setting and the joy of being together, out in nature.
